We ask that you come to visit us on a rehearsal night, Mondays 6:45pm - 9:30pm.
Don't be surprised that we are very excited to see you! We will definitely ask how you heard of us and how long you've been in the area. You may be nervous, but don't be, we've all been in your shoes. We're here to make sure your visit is a joyous one.
When you arrive, our voice placement person will have you do a simple exercise to see which of our four parts fits your voice best. Then you will receive a packet of information giving a little background of who we are and what we enjoy doing. Information on costs, costumes, and make-up are included as well. There will be a simple form to fill out, just some basic information identifying how we may contact you, if necessary. Please be assured, your information will remain within our chorus only. Also within the packet is a piece of music and a learning CD/tape of a short audition song.
Once rehearsal begins, you will be placed with people singing the similar part. We have music folders for you to use during practice that will keep you up with what we are singing. Don't worry if you do not read music.
We're hoping you enjoyed our rehearsal so much that you'll take home your packet and begin practicing the audition song. Come back the following Mondays to get to know us and have any questions you might have answered. When you have memorized your part, on the audition song (normally about 5 weeks or so) you have an opportunity to practice in a quartet formation, which will help prepare you for an audition.
Auditioning in your quartet formation will be done before you know it! There's always some excited music team members eager to listen in. When you successfully audition, you will get a set of all the current music along with a learning CD/tape. We will help get you on your way to being a Sweet Adeline!
